Intimate Wedding in Lethbridge Alberta
Jesse and Emma’s intimate wedding in Lethbridge, Alberta was seriously one of my favourite days. Every moment was so intentionally thought out. They included a copper arch that they made themselves, took communion with each other during their ceremony, and Emma’s dad dropped her off in his rad car! Jesse and Emma, like many others, had to adjust their wedding day plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They originally hoped to celebrate with all of their family and friends, but because of the restrictions they opted to have a small intimate ceremony with their immediate family rather than postponing entirely.
Their plan all along was to get married in the coulees in Lethbridge, but they decided to switch the location to accommodate a more private and intimate setting. The location for their first look was a quiet spot tucked away in the coulees in Alexander Wilderness Park. This park in Lethbridge is one of my favourites, because it is usually a lot less busy than the other parks in Lethbridge.
Jesse and Emma shared private vows together after their super sweet first look, and it was so special. I love when couples choose to set aside time in their wedding day to share vows or letters with each other. It creates such beautiful and meaningful moments, and you get to enjoy that one on one time together.
After their first look and private vows, we headed to another park where they met their families for their ceremony. Prior to their wedding day, I helped them choose the ceremony location, and I think it turned out perfect. It didn’t feel like we were in the city at all! It was quiet and absolutely stunning because it was all so green!
As you can tell by scrolling through the photos, Jesse and Emma’s intimate wedding in Lethbridge, Alberta was pretty rainy! I am a huge fan of rainy wedding days because I think it creates such an intimate and cozy vibe. Throughout their ceremony, family photos and bridal portraits, a storm started to roll in fairly quickly. We actually had to pretty much run for the car at the end because of the thunder and lightning! We barely made it to the car before it started to pour rain. And I mean pour haha! But thankfully rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?!
All in all, despite the changes Jesse and Emma had to make to their wedding day.. it turned out absolutely perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed documenting their love. My hope when you look through these images, is that you see how truly special this wedding was. And if you’re planning a wedding during the Covid-19 pandemic, maybe it will give you a little bit of comfort knowing that no matter what – your wedding will be a day to remember.
I have received quite a few questions on Instagram about Emma’s dress – it is from Lulu’s!
